Tool Information:

The postpartum period involves significant physical and emotional recovery. Keeping a simple log can help you notice patterns, track progress, and provide useful information during checkups with your healthcare provider. This tool allows you to privately record daily or periodic notes about your healing.

What to Track

Common aspects to monitor include:

  • Bleeding (Lochia): Note the amount (heavy, moderate, light, spotting) and color (red, pink, brown, yellowish-white). Heavy bleeding requires immediate medical attention.
  • Pain Level: Track perineal pain (from tears/episiotomy) or incision pain (C-section), as well as afterpains or general soreness. Note if pain medication is needed.
  • Incision/Tear Healing (if applicable): Briefly describe how the area looks (clean, red, swollen?) or feels (itchy, painful?).
  • Mood: Note your overall emotional state (happy, tearful, anxious, overwhelmed?). Be aware of signs of postpartum depression/anxiety.
  • Activity: Record gentle activities like short walks or basic self-care.
  • Other Symptoms: Note things like fatigue, bowel movements, urinary comfort, breast changes, etc.

How to Use This Tool

Select the date and fill in the relevant fields for that day. Be honest and concise. Use the notes sections for specific details. Your log is saved directly in your browser.
